My kids are at the age that they are losing teeth. My 7-year-old daughter has lost a handful of teeth, but my 5-year-old son hadn’t lost any – until this week. It kind of freaks me out that my kids are already losing teeth. For me, having my kids lose their teeth is a definite indication that they are no longer my little babies and that time’s a tickin’.
Andrew lost his first tooth on Thursday night. Bree immediately hopped into creative mode and helped Andrew write a letter to the tooth fairy.
Letter to the Tooth Fairy
The letter to the tooth fairy was:
Dear Tooth Fairy,
May I have some fairy dust?
My tooth was bloody.
It was my first tooth.
I want 5 or 50 dollars. I’m 5!
Andrew
How much money do you think Andrew got for his first tooth? Was it 5 or 50 dollars!? LOL. See below for the answer.
Tooth Fairy Tradition – Fairy Dust
At our house, tooth fairy dust has become a tradition. A couple of teeth ago, Bree decided that since the tooth fairy was a fairy that she must have some fairy dust on hand. So she wrote a letter to the tooth fairy (another tradition Bree started) and asked her to leave some fairy dust. Sure enough, the tooth fairy left some fairy dust in a Ziploc bag with the money.
Letter from the Tooth Fairy
The tooth fairy always writes a letter back to the kids. Bree was quite concerned after one of her first letters from the tooth fairy because she thought the handwriting looked similar to mine. I don’t think that has been a problem since… 🙂 I like that the tooth fairy writes the letter on the back of the original letter because then I get to keep the original letter without a question of “Why didn’t the tooth fairy take my letter with her?” She couldn’t take it because she had to write the letter back. I’m trying to stay a step ahead. Santa writes his letter back to the kids on the back of the letter to him as well.
What does the tooth fairy do when she visits your house? The tooth fairy is a “she” right? My daughter determined that there are multiple tooth fairies. In one of her letters to her tooth fairy, she found out that her tooth fairies name is Amanda. Do you have any traditions at your house? How much money do your kids get for their teeth? For Andrew’s first tooth he got $5, but normally they get a dollar or two.
