I love decorating for Christmas. This year I decorated the weekend of November 15th. A lot of people probably think that is too early, but my thought is – why not enjoy it as long as you can!
Elegant Christmas Tree
When we moved to our new house last year, we got a new 9 foot Christmas tree. I picked up the tree from Costco. I really like their trees – they’re very full and look very nice. This tree is my elegant tree – silvers, golds, creams, and whites.
Winter Entry Table Decor
I keep most of the decor on my entry table up through the winter. It helps me ease out of Christmas and into the spring.
This pictures is from a Christmas card we got a couple years ago. Beautiful Christmas cards in picture frames are a simple and inexpensive way to decorate.
Glass bulbs are another simple and festive way to decorate for the holidays. I will use bulbs that match the theme of the room or area.
I love to decorate with apothecary jars. I used epsom salt and Christmas figurines in some of my apothecary jars to add to my table decor.
Last year owls were a decor trend, My daughter was also fascinated with owls at the time, so I added a couple of cute winter owls to my decor.
Each year, I take the kids to get pictures with Santa in their Christmas pajamas. This year, I found some really cute classic Christmas pajamas on Amazon for the girl’s.
Christmas Tablescape
We have a formal dining table, but don’t eat at it as often as I’d like. The good news is that it is another fun place I get to decorate for the holidays.
Christmas Nativity
I have a small collection of nativities. I have a beautiful painting of the nativity scene that displays above a table with my nativiy sets.
I picked this nativity up after Christmas last year. I had to go to four different stores to get the entire set, but you can’t beat 50% off!
This set was given to us by some neighbor’s who did the 12 days of Christmas to us. Each night we got a new piece of the set along with a thought. The kids loved it. I wanted to do the same thing to some neighbors this year, but I was organized enough and didn’t have the energy to pull it off.
Candles at Christmas
I love decorating with candles. I think they add a simple elegance to a space and I love watching the glimmer of the candles when it is dark outside.
Elegant Christmas Mantle
I love having a fireplace to decorate with. I love to sit in this room and read, work on my computer, and watch T.V. while the fire is glimmering in the background.
This is tree number #2. This tree is mostly decorated in Santa and snowmen ornaments I have collected since we were first married. This was my 4-year-old daughter’s favorite tree. She took of the ornaments and played house with them this last month.
I really like these stockings I picked up last year. I picked them up from a discount store – Tuesday Morning. They look elegant and fit in well with the other colors and decor for the room.
I picked up this wreath from Target last year at an after Christmas sale. It fit perfectly with the mirror already in the room and also matched well with the other colors and decor in the room. I’m tempted to keep it up all year.
I picked up this Santa from Home Goods this year. It’s my favorite new addition to my Christmas collection this year.
Christmas Trinket and Knick Knack Shelves
This room is where most of my Christmas trinkets and knick knacks are displayed. I have a bunch of Santa’s, snowmen, and nutcrackers the I have collected over the years.
When we first moved in I wanted to get rid of these shelves. Now that I’ve found some good use with them for my holiday decorations – I think I may keep them!
Finally, this year we made gingerbread houses at a family party. I displayed them in from of our Santa pictures.
