Friday 5 – Opening Ceremony, Love Bug, Love You, Childhood, & River Rafting

Here are the 5 random things that make me happy this week.

1: Olympics Opening Ceremony

The Olympic opening ceremony is tonight and I can’t wait.  It is always spectacular and I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be there.

2: Hippie Love Bug Inspiration

This is what I want to do to makeover my daughters desk.  Hopefully I’ll have a follow-up post to show you what we came up with.

3: Love You Like a Love Song

My daughter loves Selena Gomez.  If I’m being honest…  I like her too.   We have been jamming to this song this week.

4: Childhood

Wow.  This picture takes my breath away.  What a beautiful depiction of childhood.  In my world, this is what days look like everyday.  Surrounded by beautiful light, in a stunning setting, with the kids running around playing with bubbles.

5: River Rafting

This last week we were in Island Park with the family.  We always have fun, but this time was particularly fun.  It has been awhile since we went river rafting, but this time we went down the river three times.   It wasn’t quite as adventurous as this photo (wink), but it was one of the trip highlights.  My kids loved it.

My daughter’s birthday party is tomorrow and her actual birthday is on Sunday.  The kids get excited for their big day all year and the pressure is on to not disappoint.  She wouldn’t tell me what she wants for gifts this year because she wants to be surprised.  She is at that somewhat awkward stage where she is a little too old for a lot of toys, but not old enough for some of the “teen” gifts.  I think I figured out something, so I’m excited to see if she likes it.
