Family Nerf Gun Fight

With Memorial Day on Monday, we are heading into a long weekend.  I love long weekends.  I love long, laid back, build forts, sit around and shoot each other with Nerf guns types of weekends.

Our basement has a room that has unofficially turned into the fort room/Nerf gun fight room.  We picked up these awesome battery powered Nerf guns on Amazon for Christmas gifts for the kids.  To build our Nerf fort, one side of the room was draped with sheets and the other side of the room was barricaded with couches.  We play kids versus parents. We’ve had a lot of fun playing with them.

Looks like I’m about to get it.  He’s pretty serious about this game.  Maybe if I spent more time reloading my gun than taking pictures I wouldn’t be in this predicament.

And then quickly hiding when she see’s that she’s not.

Little Buggly is getting in on the action.  Looks like she’s going to go Jedi style.

I try to cherish moments like this.  I hear way too often that kids grow up too quick.

My oldest is almost 8.  I only have a few more years until she is officially a teenager.  I hear they don’t like you when they are teenagers.

Maybe my son will like me…

At least I have 12 more years until she is a teenager.

I’ll try not to worry about the teenage years for now.

I’ll just enjoy the forts, the dress-ups, and the Nerf gun fights.
