Here is this week’s list of things that make me happy. Read more about the nothing happier series.
Watermelon
Nothing makes me happier than watermelon.
Watermelon reminds me of summer. My mom always had watermelon for us to snack on when we were growing up. I love the sweet taste of watermelon.
Having a Plan
Nothing makes me happier than having a plan.
The next couple of weeks are incredibly busy. When I am busy, the only way I survive is to have a plan. I like to use a good old fashioned pen and paper to jot down all the things that need to be done.
I have a calendar that breaks down action items for each day, a task list that lists everything that needs to get done, and a shopping list that keeps track of the things that need to be purchased.
I have learned that having a plan is the only way I survive when I am busy.
Painting is Done
Nothing makes me happier than when painting is done.
I have a love-hate relationship with painting. I dread anytime I decide it’s time to put a fresh coat of paint on a room. Painting isn’t necessarily a hard job. I think my problem with it is that it is tedious and time consuming. There isn’t really a way to “outsmart” the job and get it done quicker. It takes as long as it takes. I am a bit of a perfectionist and I spend a lot of time taping and carefully painting the corners and around the windows to minimize leaks and drips.
Nothing makes me happier than when I’m finally done with painting and I can peel back the tape and begin decorating the room.
What is making you happy this week?
