It’s here!!! Fall is officially here and I couldn’t be happier. I told my daughter we would be getting fall pictures soon and she quickly said, “Mom! It isn’t fall yet.” Little did she know – fall officially kicked off yesterday!
Today was a beautiful day and we took advantage of the nice day and amazing colors in the mountains by going on a drive and getting some fall pictures. Here are my picks for the nothing happier series this week.
Fall
Oh how I love the reds, the oranges, the yellows, and the greens of fall. The leaves in the mountains are changing and our view is simply stunning.
Today we took a drive through Millcreek Canyon. I really wanted to go to the Alpine Loop because I hear it is incredible, but I decided it was probably too long of a drive for the kids. Driving through Millcreek Canyon reminded me of a previous life where I filmed weddings.
I got my fall fix today and plan on fully enjoying the next couple of months of amazing beauty and wonderful weather. Hooray for fall!
Fall Pictures
I have a horrible memory. Taking pictures is how I hold on to memories. Usually the pictures I take are casual, everyday moments, but in the fall I like to get pictures that are a little more coordinated and planned.
Between pictures (or instead of pictures a lot of the time), my oldest was collecting leaves, my son was collecting tree branches, and my baby was throwing a fit. It was a draining, yet memorable adventure.
Sibling Rivalry
Sibling rivalry = happy? Well, not exactly. When I’m trying to get some cute pictures of the kids all facing the right direction, with smiles on their faces, and all my son can do is tease and harass his sister – it just about puts me over the edge.
About 90 percent of the time during our fall pictures was spent trying to get the kids to cooperate. I kept thinking to myself, “Why do I do this to myself?!”
As I was scanning through the pictures, the outtakes made me smile. I could have a complete album of outtakes and in reality, that is what everyday life is like – a bunch of outtakes. My son teasing his sister and her fighting back. This is my life and nothing makes me happier.
What is making you happy this week? Do you love fall as much as I do? It is my favorite season.
