Nothing Happier than Rainy Days, Roasted Marshmallows, & Babies in Tutus

Here is this week’s list of things that make me happy:

Rainy Days

Nothing makes me happier than rainy days.

I love when it rains.  The air is fresh.  The world gets clean.  The day is comfy and cozy. I love rainy days because we are more likely to have an easy, carefree day together as family.  I like to spend days rainy days cuddled up in my down comforter and watching movies with my kids.

I love the rain so much I sometimes think I should move to the Northwest.  However, I have learned that I love the rain for one day – maybe two if one of the days isn’t a weekend day.

Roasted Marshmallows

Nothing makes me happier than roasted marshmallows.

Summer is right around the corner and all I can think about is going camping, spending time outdoors, and roasted marshmallows.  I love roasted marshmallows.  The combination of crunchy, gooey, and sweet is making my mouth water.

For me, roasting marshmallows is just as much about the sweet treat as it is about the casual, laid-back relaxing conversations that usually accompany roasting marshmallows. When I was growing up, we would go camping every year with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  It is one of my fondest memories.  During the day we would have fun playing in the water and making crafts.  At night we would all congregate and tell stories, laugh, and roast marshmallows.

Now we go to my parents cabin in Island Park every summer.  Whoever can make it comes.  We enjoy great food, four-wheeling, roasted marshmallows, and great memories.

I love roasted marshmallows because of their deliciousness and what they symbolize to me – family, memories, and summertime.

Babies in Tutus

Nothing makes me happier than babies in tutus.

Tutus are cute on ballerinas, they’re cute on little girls, but they’re especially cute on babies.

My mom picked up a pink tutu for my daughter Emily when she was an infant and have had multiple home photo shoots with her dressed up in this cute accessory.  Tutus are the embodiment of everything girly.  They make me happy.
