I’ve been decorating for the holidays this year and didn’t want to miss making some simple St. Patrick’s day decorations. I love using decorative balls to decorate with and the holidays are no exception.
I purchased a bunch of reindeer moss about a year ago because I saw a cute St. Patrick’s wreath on a blog that was covered with the reindeer moss. As life goes I never got around to making the wreath but lucky for me (get it, St. Patrick’s day = lucky :)), I had the supplies on hand to make some natural looking, green decorative balls.

Here is a mid-craft, craft supplies shot.
DIY Green Decorative Ball Tutorial
I picked up this Reindeer Moss package from Hobby Lobby for $4.99. This 4 0z bag covered about 3 1/2 3 inch Styrofoam balls.
I covered large areas of Styrofoam ball with hot glue and covered with the reindeer moss.
Fill in the gaps with hot glue and pressing the reindeer moss into the holes.
Once the gaps are filled in, pull off excess reindeer moss to smooth out the ball.
For some added flair I added a cute green butterfly to the edge of the bowl. I picked up a pack of 4 of these clip-on butterflies for $2.40 ($3.99 – 40% off) at Michaels.
