ReplyDeleteI love these! Can't wait to use one, just need to decide which room to hang it up in! I have to agree with a previous poster, I do think it's a little obnoxious when readers but in a very specific request for something!!!! You do this for FREE for us, no need to get bossy/picky! I think if someone wants to request something specific they should ask how much you would charge for a custom design!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you~! Love it! Can ya'll tell me where you are printing them? I tried costco but it doesn't upload correctly so i tried staples & can't find a 16.x20. THanks!

Grammar police may tell you that to be grammatically correct your sign should read, "What I love most about my home is with whom I share it."
ReplyDeleteTo quote Mrs. Barton, my high school English teacher, "A dangling participle is something up with which I will never put!" She meant it sometimes sounds ridiculously wrong when we say it right.
However, since the American population at large no longer speaks using correct grammar, we can ignore grammar police with impunity, unless we are students in an English class.
French people are not so lucky when they write and speak French in France. They have real government grammar police.

ReplyDeleteI know this is not a grammar site, so feel free to delete my comment. I just wanted to respond to anonymous.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous is wrong in diagnosing a dangling participle in the saying. Participles are verbs acting as adjectives and usually end in "ing" or "ed." There is no participle in the saying.
Anonymous is wrong in insisting that the saying not end in a preposition. People talk like that. It is fine to write like that. It is only wrong to end in a preposition if it is an unnecessary preposition. For example "at" and "to" are unnecessary in the sentences, "Where is it at?" and "Where are you going to?"
Anonymous was only right in changing "who" to "whom." "Whom" is an object pronoun and should be used here as the object of the preposition "with." "Who" is a subject pronoun.
No offense intended to you or anonymous. I doubt anonymous meant to be offensive to you either. Some people like to correct perceived mistakes made by others without remembering most people don't like to be corrected.
It is your plaque so let it be written how you talk in your house. You were nice to share your poster with others.
Happy creating and thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI love, love your work! I am going to print out the "What I like most about my classroom is whom I share it with" for my son's teacher. I also planning on printing several other of your subway art pages, but wondered if this should also be whom instead of who in the "What I love about my home" print?? (Even when I think I have their usages down, I still don't feel like I completely use them correctly! LOL) If you had plans to change them, then I would wait to print these. If you do not plan to change them, then I will go ahead and print them, as I said before, because I love your work! :) Thanks, Nicole Hall
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole... These prints will be staying with the WHO. :)
